ok. so i know that there are at least 2 things that can make me happy. there are others but specifically today we speak of 2. one is exercise(playing soccer) and two is reading. not together of course. so marymary let me borrow her copy of lovely bones as i was complaining about getting through the intellectual read that carl bernstein provides. and it has been bopping around in my bag for a bit. so last night, as i am getting stevenjr's bath ready, i grabbed the book and started to read during bath time. (WHAT? you don't totally ignore your child during a bath?... for the record, i sit facing him - so if he goes under, i can catch him.). So, i am reading and tears are rolling down my face. fast and furious. i get stevenjr out of the bath, dried up, milked and handed him his own book. read it yourself, kid, i got a book to read. wow. he eventually did fall asleep on his own with ernie in his outstretched arm! anyway, i stayed up until 1:15am reading. had to go to sleep at page 248. woke up and was already trying to figure out when i could finish it. so naptime comes and i run upstairs with stevenjr, hand him his book and read on the floor. YAHOOOOOOO. I haven't read a good book in so long! and it was good. and im done! i finished it, i still have time to blog but the laundry is not finished. aren't my literary needs more important than clean underwear? so tonight i have a soccer game, first one of the summer season. and there you have it. two fun things in one day! i should just pack it in and wait for the summer T'storms to roll through town. elasped time since book was opened:19, hours spent sleeping: 7.
