ok. it was not such a crazy idea. 3 moms, 3 2-year-old boys, lunch at the silver diner after an hour at the park. and i was prepared. i had the dvd player charged and ready with a blue's clue dvd. but you know, i wanted to wait a bit before i turned it on...mistake #1. steven has this new thing where he will scream a high pitched screech. in some toddler effort to get my attention. kenny and james didn't scream. nope. they were happy to await their silverdollar pancakes. but the old bitty at the adjoining booth decided she had enough and came over to reprimand us. but i was busy chastising steven and explaining how we dont scream when i looked up, only to catch her going on about something..."that high pitched noise is annoying all the other customers..." as she looked around the diner looking for a standing ovation. what she got out of me was a blank stare with my mouth hanging open. i had nothing to say, i couldn't believe we were in a total KID-FRIENDLY stinkin diner with crayons inside a little 50s paper car and a menu with about 50 kids items. and WE were the ones in trouble. i haven't felt like i was 8 in a long time! we were all shocked too, and all we could do was giggle after she walked away. but the best was that a big money truck pulled up infront of our window and steven, kenny and james all stated chanting RED TRUCK, RED TRUCK, RED TRUCK, RED TRUCK, RED TRUCK, RED TRUCK, RED TRUCK!(while jumping on the bench). boys will be boys!
