ok. it was a good weekend. the kind where the deck construction begins. YAY. the downside is that steveO is so busy being a man with tools that I am a single mom. which is a tall order when you have a toddler who thinks he can use a hammer too. so there was a lot of WHAASSAT, every time a nail gun or saw or hammer noise filled the air. then we have to investigate. i am so excited about it. we are going with TREX. which is exciting b/c I can pretend we are installing our own dinosaur. but let me talk about splinter free decking! wooohoooo. so excited. now i need to pick out the new deck furniture and of course, i already found a cool toddler sand/water table complete with an umbrella! and yet another reason why i can save my family a ton of money if I am not out shopping... i found an automatic bubble machine in a cool kid store in falls church today (doodlehopper). can you say, how lazy are you mommy? well, let me just say i don't have enough lung capacity to keep stevenjr happy with my bubble producing skills. we need a motor people! this is definitely something invented by a mom. sweet! can't wait til i find a FOURTH "C" battery so i can actually start the thing up. yeehaw.

soccer news: i played indoor sunday night in a game where we won 12-2. i scored 4 so I was feeling pretty non- old/fat/slow. but that's because, its amazing how much power i can get behind a ball when i am old/slow/fat. anyway...the US men played Ecuador on sunday in FLORIDA. tampa no less, which sucks b/c i have a sis-in-law there so if i had made any sort of plans, i could have figured out a way to go visit. anyway, a sweet win it was 3-1. landon, can't play in the big games, but here he was getting himself a sweet hat trick. he is neither old/fat/slow. go figure. bruce arena's microphone needs to be permanently unplugged. i can not STAND his voice. and now that he is willing to chat about his stupid yankees, im thinking of plotting a kill. get him off the air. screw him. eew. anyway, i was of course pleased that hottie taylor twellman got to play, however brief. i will take it, even though i thought the blue pinstripe jerseys were ugly. and yes, the USMNT is all about eye candy to me. did i mention that the US women are playing on mother's day weekend in PINK jerseys? now that my friends is genius. i think i might need to see if they are selling these pinkos. how cute. no hot pink like the babes. no, petal pink like for breast cancer.

so the deck construction continues this weekend and i decided to get the hizell out of dodge and head south to the inlaws. stevenjr can have some fun and i can shop for more spring/summer clothes considering today was 82 degrees and i can't fit into any clothes. there is something i am not telling you. non-refundable fee for swim club membership waiting list: 125, percent sure i think we will sign up: 25%.
