easy like sunday morning
ok. it's been a while since I got some new music and since I am still iPod-less(yes santa, i am an angry elf) I asked for some new CDs on my amazon list. I got them all and I have been excitedly playing them. It's a little bit embarrassing really that 3 of them had songs that were played on grey's anatomy, but I can't help it, i still like the spice girls for pete's sake. And since I have been on a rejuvenated music high, i also put some new CDs on Stevenjr's list. He of course got all 6 of them, some wiggles, laurie berkner and last but definitely not least was the soundtrack to Jack's Big Music show. You can't imagine what has happened. It started 5 nights ago when I took him upstairs and popped the JBMS (season 1)CD into his $20 total cheapo Sears CD player. He was hooked, I mean it wasn't a total surprise b/c he loves the show, but there was something different now. he looked around for the screen, convinced that he would see the image of Jack bouncing around, but he finally got it that it was just sound. so he started dancing, and at the end of EVERY song, DROPPed whatever he was holding and clapped. and he looks at me like "hey, clap for the man." so i clap too. and we repeated this cycle for a couple of nights. but for the last couple of days after playing in the tv room for a while, he would go up the stairs and squat in front of that little CD player and start hitting buttons. Then he noticed the "now playing" CD case sitting on his bookshelf and made monkey noises until i handed it to him. He opened it up and pulled the liner notes out. He ooohed and aaahed over all the pics and asked who everyone was. I get it, he likes music. And today, being sunday, it was early and i needed coffee, so I took the boombox and CD case downstairs with me as I lured him to the kitchen, then dragged his little chair and made some coffee. The image made me laugh so hard, I had to post it. I mean, come on now, how many toddler music geeks are out there, sitting on their chair sunday morning, reading the liner notes while the CD plays and plays. Yes, he definitely thinks the WHOLE album passes the ivaner repeat test. b/c it played over and over and at the end of track 15, he would stand up from his chair and yell UH-OH UH-OH until we came to help him. then, when we grew weary of the jack and his damn music crap show b/c we heard it 500 times, he learned where the play button was. start time of indoor game: 11pm, score at halftime: 12-0, goals i scored: 4, end result: 19-0.
