cramming
ok. last week we switched from Cox Cable to Verizon FIOS b/c it was a great deal and i finally get my ESPN2HD so i can finally watch the women's national team play in HD. Im so sick of the stretched grainy look. but then there are all these channel listings to memorize. hello 800 channels. so as you can see i have been busy learning my new tv system. resetting my favorite channels, learning the new remote gizmo that can almost set the microwave for 30 seconds to heat stevenjr's lunch. come on people, there is not alot of time for parenting with 800 channels. and tivo was feeling all neglected b/c the cable installers screwed up and left us an HD DVR instead of plain HD box we ordered. so tivo is sitting there all pissed off caveman style and freaking FROZE the other night during desperate housewives. edy is such a biotch. steve had to talk tivo down from the ledge and we are all systems a go this morning. EXCEPT that the channel GUIDE decided to display NO INFORMATION. on every channel. so here i sit going cavewoman in the washington post and actually looking at the paper version of the TV GUIDE. horror! im relectant to call the cable peeps b/c then they are going to pull up my account and recognize that no one ever came back to pick up the illegal HD DVR that i didnt order! but i am secretly using b/c it is really cool to have a VCR thingy totally integrated into your tv channels. sorry tivo, but its true. no, its not as cute as you tivo, and no it doesn't have a cute blippy noise, but its just better. because i said so. so there you have it. i have been extremely preoccupied with TELEVISION. woo. i cant remember the last time i wrote that whole word out.

on a getting out of town note, steve and i went to Gloucester Mass this weekend for a romantic getaway BABY FREE!! it was really all about shannon's party(typo note:i wrote pastry there first instead of party which is beyond a mere slip of words b/c shannon is evil and alerted me to this struedel place in Rockport Ma which was so incredible. yum. apples. anyway...) so we had a good time at shannon's lobster casual party, where for the first time ever i wore high heels with slacks! yeah, i felt like a party girl. which i was, but in moderation mind you, thanks to the tiny wine glasses which created a pretty decent sunday morning wakeup. sadly, the beer glasses were not so small so steveO was another story. it was great and i got to see a lot of great people who i havent seen in a WAY TOO LONG time.
degrees last night @9:15 kickoff for my over 30 game: 41, time to score our first goal leading to victory: 45, time spent wishing i wore sweatpants: 90.
