ok. a comment left on phlegm blogger, a cellphone number in an email, one flight from NH to DC and we have one blogger reunion! AC wttygrrl hits DC! And knowing a southern bon vivant, such as herself, it's off to Georgia Brown's we go. I have been there 5 other times for dinner and was pretty excited about it, but I must confess it was NOT an impressive night there. I may not bother to return! The waiter was slow, but we didn't care b/c there was MUCH catching up to do. I tried Chicken Livers and despite 3 attempts, I couldn't stop thinking about my own liver. so that didn't work, but AC enjoyed. my salad was FILLED with onions, yuck. Then horror of all horrors, the waiter suggests that the capuccino maker is on the fritz. Eeek. Then he shows up with it in this ordinary coffee cup. not.the.same. like drinking wine from a dixie cup. and if you can even imagine, the Kentucky Bourbon chocolate pecan pie was BURNT on top. EEEEEEW. so it was sent back, with barely a blink of an eye from our slooow waiter. but it was great nonetheless b/c we had a good time! Then it was across town to BOURBON, which was too cool to even have a sign out front of it. AC grilled the barkeep, and he failed all her tests. although! he had a VERY heavy hand with his pours, so our bourbons were GINORMOUS! and I learned a lot of new bourbon facts. and even how to drink the damn stuff. until my stomach said CEASE fire. then it was almost time for peekay to turn into a pumpkin and the reunion was over. a very hip night for a peekay who gets up at 7am these days! good to see you AC! georgia brown's valet parking: $5, parking spot on street: $0, hours gabbing about this and that: 5.
