happy st patrick's day / happy birthday mia hamm
ok. two reasons to celebrate today! and then i almost slice off my middle finger! woops. i decided around 2pm that i should make corned beef and cabbage for dinner(for the first time ever), so off to the store to get the fixins. im home by 3:45 and the meat is in the pot. what i learned today is that it is important to NOT multi-task when carrying a very sharp 8" knife. and since the kitchen is in shambles, the only cutting surface was the oven. ha. so when i am putting the cutting board down the onion slides off and my catlike reflexes react before i remember that i am holding an 8" CHEF'S knife. eeeouch! so my left hand suffers the blow and it is gushing more blood than i have seen in possibly ever. as i run to the phone and attempt to call steveO, the phone is dead b/c this morning the electrician cut the downstairs line. all of a sudden i am having a flashback to tony soprano lying on his uncle's floor bleeding to death. thank god for kickass neighbors! phew! nickie saved the day by running to cvs for me and im all bandaged up! the ER is for pu$$ies! due for a nother tylenol dosage(minutes):15,
