you take the good, you take the bad...
ok. you know it's never a good conversation starter when the The Auto Clinic's office gal happily chirps the I-have-goodnews-and-badnews-line. in that clever way that you want to smack them. the good was that the LARGE chunk of metal, I drove over getting off of the highway into Williamsburg, missed my transmission by an inch. The bad was that the cost to repair the cracked transmission pan, gasket and fluids would set me back $800. ZOINKS! the car is only 5 months old and already it has been into the shop 3 times! for random things like a mysterious dent appearing on the tire well and the side trim crumpling up. now this. This all happened LAST Wednesday when we set sail to the inlaws for a few days so that SteveO could do some messy/dusty work on the addition. So on thursday I informed Marney the friendly, elderly office gal by day, loving grandma by night to go ahead with the work and she said it would be done by Tuesday. Well Tuesday has come and nearly gone and guess what? NO parts have arrived. APPARENTLY, some dumbass tornado has swept through Indiana SUNDAY. And somehow this is affecting the arrival of "my" parts. which were ORDERED on Thursday. so i can't do the math. all i know is that a mere 2 hour drive south of DC and i feel truly in the south. everything moves a bit more slowly including auto shop employees! on a different note, it sure is nice spending time out of the house on vacation while baby boo is spoilt by an adoring auntie and a doting grammy. days spent invading inlaws wburg estate, and counting: 7, days til baby's 6 month appointment which was scheduled 4 months ago and no other openings until JANUARY:3.
