ok. reflections of. the way. life used to be. sometimes you need to take some time out to remember how we got here. and it's the semi-annual let's remember why we are a phlegm blogger! the phlegm has rising and spewed and its here to remind me that being healthy is not a given. last night it took on a brown yellow color. which is a new one for me on day2. usually it waits until day 4 for the big guns. what can i say. my phlegm is an overachiever. so i am desperately trying to keep my germs to myself but its kinda hard when you have a 6.5 month old that needs to be on your boobs every 4 hours. soooooo. that's my story.

let's recap thanksgiving. it was wonderful. and so very WHITE. I woke up hearing the telltale signs of the plows but I was still in disbelief until I opened the shades! woohooo. a totally snow-covered street! it was awesome. Auntie Laura cooked the meal to such a sweet perfection! i only had ONE serving. which is what we call AN all-time FIRST for peekay. i dont know what came over me b/c it was all so delightful, but i wanted to make room for PIE. i brought the wine. 4 bottles. my brother's one request is that we celebrate with US vineyards only. so i grabbed a chardonnay, pinot noir and two cabernets. what i love about EL is that when i went to the BIG Y to get the sweet potatoes for my dad, I envisioned a wild mess of crazed procrastinating shoppers. and while the store was busy, it was not insane like all the stores in Northern Virginia. my conclusion is that people in New England are happy to be at a market hours before the meal is to be cooked and that's ok.
