mercy rule
ok. had my 2nd over 30 soccer game. I made it on time with a few minutes to stretch and no traffic tix! thats about where the fun ended. the other team was phenomenal. passing around us like monkey in the middle. since 80% of my team is made up of 39+ with at least one kid at home, this was a challenge. i want to say the score was like 10-0 at half. we asked to cut the second half to 20 minutes and maybe they scored 8 more. it was disgusting. one of our players asked them why they would ever play in this league and the girl was like we wanted the field to practice. well it is a nice field! you see they have been playing together for the last 8 years and travel the country in tournaments. WTF? we need to find a better league for us and they need to find a different time to practice. i think that their entire team turned 30 the moment the whistle blew b/c they looked like they were 20 and ran like they were 18. I managed to stay injury free, in part b/c i spent much of the game spinning around in circles. shots on goal: 0, minutes as forward: 60.
