Survivor: Western Mass
ok. im back, im back, stone cold sober as a matter of fact. and boy do i need a drink. i didn't have time to blog so i will blog a couple of vacation thoughts and resume to current times this weekend. from VA to MA the trip was a good one. baby slept like a champ in the graco drugged infant carseat. I had to stop once in NJ at one of those random famous people rest stops. I had the stops planned out to the minute. and i didn't even use MS Project to plan it. stop car in spot far away from other cars. leave car running(1000 degrees), jump in back seat, take baby out of carseat and breast feed from Left boob. put baby back in carseat and get snapNgo stroller out of boot(everyone is so London now) and get baby ready to roll. speed stroll to womens room and find empty handicap stall. pee, wipe, flush. wash hands and change baby on koala changing station. (hoping brown smudge is not what i think but just a toddlers chocolate bar finger mark. yes im a dreamer). wash hands again. rush out to roy rogers(ick) and grab burger. speed stroll back to car, turn car on, get baby in car and open the Right side BREASTaurant and feed baby. stick baby back in car seat and hop back in drivers seat. I look at the clock and holy 40 minutes!!! I thought i was working so well and come to find out its now 2pm and i gotta get to NYC before rush hour.

for some reason, i thought that it was a common act of niceness to hold open a door for a woman pushing a stroller. apparently the NJ rest-stoppers missed that Oprah. NO one held the door for me. I think a couple men tried to push past me so they could get through the door i was opening for my stroller. arg. When i got to a Connecticut rest stop, a fine gentleman in business man attire held the door for me, i smiled brightly and thanked him, along with a "WOW this is the difference between a CT rest stop and NJ!!" manners, manners.

going over the GW bridge was a real dream. the problem was 95 North in CT was a nightmare. absolute parking lot. baby cried the minute the car stopped rolling 75 mph. I pulled over 2 times to see if he was hurt or hungry or dirty diaped. NOPE, this little angel just wanted to smile and coo. it was just plain torture having to stick him in the carseat for 2 more hours!!! left VA: 10:10AM, arrived MA: 7:35pm, total hours: 9.
