afternoons with FSC (FOX SOCCER CHANNEL)
ok. I was able to get baby to chill out with me for 3 hours yesterday on the couch. On any day this is a good thing but when it allows me to watch the whole UEFA Women's soccer semi-finals, you can only imagine my excitement. (Just after the initial shock of actually seeing women's soccer on tv). It was Norway vs Sweden and Norway ended up winning in extra time. Dagny Mellgren had the winning assist. I need to report this information to Mary b/c she really likes the name Dagny as an option for baby #2, if it's a girl of course. The commentator was so excited over the game, he kept proclaiming that it will go down as one of the best women's games ever. Yes, he said EVER. And here I sit, a totally self-absorbed American, thinking WTF?!?!? EVER? I'm sorry but I don't see any USA uniforms out on the field and I certainly don't see mia hamm. so there is no WAY this game will go down as one of the best ever. sorry, not gonna happen. no can do. The best games EVER will always include mia hamm. that's it I said it. Now, this kind of reasoning from a british male, made me suspect that this women's game was in fact HIS first ever. Which in that case, I can see where his excitement stems from. It was a damn good game. EVER? NEVER! total goals scored: 5, # of players from each team to score two goals: 1.
