shoulda coulda woulda
ok. so the madness of march is over. If the fighting Illini(WTF?) won, I was to fall in 3rd place and win $40. But instead the UNC tarheels(WTF?) won so I win nothing. Michael Jordan and Mia Hamm went to UNC, did you know that? So Fever Pitch came out this weekend. I'm kinda torn about this movie. See, the book by Nick Hornby is one of my top ten favorites. It was written about ENGLISH FOOTBALL. It is a great great story of a rabid fan of Arsenal. and it ALREADY has a movie starring Colin Firth. I own the DVD. So good, in fact, that I implore you to read it. NOW. So, leave it to Americans to remake this movie and drop the soccer aspect. I can deal with it b/c they did have the decency to have the devoted fan worship the RED SOX, which is super cool and probably the closest Americans can be to understanding a sickly supportive fanbase. (There is sweet irony that Jimmy Fallon was raised as a damn YANKEES fan, that must be *some* acting on his part.) But, it still hurts that Americans don't have that soccer thrill that the rest of the world does. $ I didn't win, that I had the chance to: 40.
