ok. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMANDA! Have a super duper day. Click on her link to the left if you want to read about the bourbon-inspired blogette. Amanda was very kind to me years ago when I became homeless, she offered up her living room in Belmont. It was really fun. I don't miss that bed couchy thing I had(I think I lost that in my georgetown to connecticut ave move) but it was a great time to live in a living room. A quote that I will never forget is "Let's make new memories". I use it all the time. Let me set the stage. I was lamenting the fact that this dingdong fool I dated for way too long had mean-spiritedly returned this gift i gave him: a super cool porcelian ash tray with a english bulldog figurine standing about 2 inches tall, and the base of the ash tray was an english flag. I should just take a picture and post it. In any event, I was of the mind to toss the freaking thing out the window, but Amanda grabbed the ashtray, plunked her butt on the couch, threw her feet on the coffee table and announced: "Honey, Let's make new memories with this." and prompted stamped her cigar out in it. It was a great moment and I still have that ashtray. And Im so glad she recognized her calling! She is a professional preventer-of-people-trashing-cool-things-returned-by-stupid-exs. You didn't know? now you do. years since I lived in Amanda's Belmont pad: 7, years it feels like: 3
