ok. in all of the snake mania, I didn't report any soccer news! Well, I woke up saturday morning, feeling groggy from the tylenol cold medicine and not very happy to see the hour of 7am on a saturday morning. waa. so i get in my car and drive to DC to play in my womens game. We already knew that only 9 of us were going to be at the game. For those of you just tuning in, we play with 11. So, knowing that, we were 2 players down, it was a cold saturday morning and I was hopped up on tylenol cold medicine, my attitude was in the crapper. Well, now, wasn't I surprised when we were up 2-0. woo! we ended the half at 2-1 and I had an assist on the first goal. At the second half kickoff, Kim took my pass from the center circle and blasted a rolling blister into the net. Very exciting. we were up 3-1. some mishaps occurred and they were tied at 3-3. With 15 seconds left, I scored and we won 4-3. That's 2 assists and a game winning goal for the Fairfax resident with a cold. At that point, I was very happy! It was later when I was showering, when the whole snake story came into play. Thankfully, post the snake incident, the US women beat Canada 3-1. woo. very good stuff, for a consolation game. I wonder if Mia will come play on my over 30 womens team? now thats a thought. red sox win last night: 3-2, nomar's performance: 0
